General Overview
This document contains details of various development and welfare projects from 1 to 128, along with the specific funds allocated for them. These funds are distributed across different sectors such as road construction, housing, agricultural development, Scheduled Caste (SC) welfare, health, and education.
Key Sectors and Projects
1. Housing & LIFE Mission
The highest amount of funds has been allocated to housing projects:
- LIFE Mission Housing (General): ₹98,00,000 (Total amount).
- LIFE Housing (SC): ₹1,05,53,200.
- Making Houses Habitable (General & SC): ₹35,70,000 has been earmarked for the General category and ₹51,00,000 for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
- LIFE Mission Land Acquisition (General & SC): ₹6,00,000 and ₹13,50,000 have been set aside respectively for purchasing land.
2. Roads & Infrastructure
Substantial funds have been sanctioned for road renovation and drain construction across various wards:
- An amount ranging from ₹10 lakhs to ₹12 lakhs each has been allocated for the renovation of Fisherman Mannath Madathai Road (Ward 1), V S Keraliyan Road (Ward 2), N K Vasudevan Road, and Sreenarayana Road (Ward 5).
- ₹14,00,000 has been earmarked for the renovation of Janashakthi Road.
- ₹10,00,000 has been set aside for the Panayamkulangara Road drain construction (Ward 4).
3. Agriculture & Dairy Sectors
- Comprehensive Coconut Cultivation Development: A large sum of ₹44,31,994 has been allocated for the development of coconut farming (with an additional separate allocation of ₹72,000 specifically for the SC category).
- Dairy Development: ₹8,79,000 has been set aside for providing cattle feed to milch cows, and ₹6,00,000 each has been allocated for milch cow rearing schemes (General & SC).
- Vegetable Cultivation: Funds have been sanctioned for the 'Krishisamriddhi' vegetable development scheme and terrace farming.
4. Scheduled Caste (SC) Welfare Projects
In addition to housing, the following welfare activities are included:
- Marriage assistance for SC girls: ₹25,00,000.
- Construction of SC study rooms: ₹10,00,000.
- Distribution of laptops to SC students: ₹4,00,000.
- Employment generation through the purchase of auto-rickshaws: ₹9,60,000.
5. Health & Social Welfare
- Procurement of Medicines: Significant amounts have been allocated, including ₹10 lakhs for the Ayurveda Dispensary, ₹8 lakhs for lifestyle disease medicines, and ₹6 lakhs for general OP patient medicines.
- Pain and Palliative Care Scheme: ₹15,75,000 has been earmarked for the care of bedridden patients.
- Anganwadi Nutrition: ₹19,50,000 has been sanctioned for providing supplementary nutrition to children and pregnant women.
- Scholarships and assistive devices are also distributed to differently-abled individuals and senior citizens.
6. Women Empowerment & Other Livelihoods
- ₹10,00,000 and ₹8,50,000 respectively have been allocated for financial assistance schemes to purchase two-wheelers/scooters for self-employed women.
- ₹10,20,000 has been set aside for a special self-employment scheme for women.
- The plan also includes projects to distribute laptops and study materials to the children of fishermen.
In Short
This annual plan of the Engandiyur Grama Panchayat places equal importance on infrastructure development (especially roads) and the socio-economic security of marginalized communities (SC, fishermen, and differently-abled individuals). The highest priority has been given to providing housing for the homeless and safeguarding public health.
